 1. The AEM-MED AIS network (AIS-MED) - Automatic identification Systems – provides all IMO information on passing vessels, (in a radius of approximately 100 Nautical Miles), including info on class A & B ships, AtoN (Aids to Navigation), SAR and ARPA (Radar)
2. The system's Data Center is located at the Municipal Port of Hersonissos in Crete, and it is fully operational. It is expected that the AEM MED network will include the areas of Valencia, Marseille, and Genoa besides the Greek seas under the name of AIS-MED.
3. The system is operating under 4 different map systems (Google maps, Microsoft virtual earth, MapPoint carts, BSB (Electronic Navigational charts), in 120 natural languages (Greek, English, French, etc) .
4. The system in its full version, provides reporting, alarms, weather reporting, real time videos up to 2 n.m. , and many more in any of the 120 different languages.
5. Many of the above capabilities will be free to any internet user worldwide.
